Rider Story – Two years in the making

Reaching The UCI Gran Fondo World Championships Perth this September has been a dream come true for James. It has been the result of a lot of hard work, planning, and training over two years that has paid dividends.

Being a teacher and a husband while also trying to chase the rainbow stripes has required a lot of sacrifices, not just from him but from those around him as well.

This year has been particularly tough after he crashed in May and tore a ligament in his knee. Having to take seven weeks off the bike wasn't a part of the plan!
He is now back on track and can't wait to roll down the ramp wearing his Australian colours on September 1.

James competed at the final in Denmark last year and he says, “There is no better feeling than representing your country in a sport you love.”

Go James!
