Take a drive

Kalamunda and the Perth Hills are a great place to take a drive around. Here are the Top 3 drives:

  • Zig Zag Scenic Drive (view map here) - for the best views of the city skyline and right out to the ocean, drive the extraordinary zig zag scenic drive. Originally a railway, the unique one-way track through the busy is one of the top things to do in Perth
  • Bickley / Carmel Valley (download a self-drive map). One of Perth’s hidden gems is this drive through the beautiful valleys in the Perth hills. If you’re here on a weekend, you will be spoilt for choice of which wineries or restaurants to stop in at. Sample some great local wines and produce or why not stay a while and relax in the wide range of luxury accommodation or spas.
  • Kalamunda to Mundaring (download a self-drive map) Strap yourself in for a stunning drive through the bush to one of Australia’s most historic watering holes. Literally! Gaze a while and brush up on the local history at Mundaring Weir & Pumping Station and then grab a drink or some food at the historic Mundaring Weir Hotel.
